Possible to detect a heart attack ?

May 6th, 2008 Posted in Nanomedicine NEWS

IIT’s Center for Excellence of Nanoelectronics has developed a small biosensor called “iSens” which detects a heart attack in advance. It should hit the market by the end of this year and it should not cost much. “iSens”, which detects the acute miocardial infarction is being prepared for clinical tests and will be out in the market in December 2008. as reported by the head of the Nanoelectronics department of IIT Mumbai, dr V Ramgopal Rao.

The tests won’t take much time since this is a diagnostic tool. A few international companies will be hired to commercialise the product. This should be one out of many tools which are developed based on nanomedicine and nanobiotechnology.
